Dale Larrance

Dale Larrance, 93, of Ridge Farm, went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 1, 2017, at 2:35pm at Hawthorne Inn, Danville. He was born October 16, 1923, in Ridge Farm to Harley and Grace {Jones} Larrance. He graduated from Ridge Farm High School in 1941. In May of 1942, he entered the US Marine Corps. He served in Asiatic-Pacific Theater for 27 months as a Platoon Sergeant. In 1946, Dale married his high-school sweetheart, Betty Smith, and had a son and two daughters. He farmed for over 60 years. He belonged to One Mission Society (OMS) and traveled to Brazil, Columbia, Ecuador, Spain, and Mexico for 35 years. He was a member of the Ridge Farm Fire Department Board, Ridge Farm Board of Education, a Farm Bureau Member, a member of the Ridge Farm Friends Church and Quaker Men. Dale was also the C.E.O. of Dale's Coffee Shop. Those who will miss him dearly include: his daughters, Marianne (Steve) Baldwin of Ridge Farm & Kathy (Bill) Semmens of Janesville, WI; his foster son, Ron (Mary) Norenberg of Danville; his two special friends, Kevin Jones of Ridge Farm & Craig Lyday of Georgetown; his 4 grandchildren, Heather (Chris) Woelich of Missouri, Alan (Ashley) Baldwin of Ridge Farm, Cindy (Rob) Plantikow of Evansville, WI, and Jeff (Sarah) Semmens of Janesville, WI; his 7 great grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by: parents; his wife of 52 years, Betty; his son, Bobby; and a grandson. A celebration of Dale's life will be held at 10:00am, Monday, May 15, 2017, at Sunset's Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E. West Street, Georgetown, with Pastor Justin Weber officiating. Visitation will be held 3:00pm to 6:00pm on Sunday, May 14, 2017, at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Georgetown Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by the American Legion Dornblaser Post #203. Memorial donations may be given in Dale's name to Ridge Farm Friends Church.
