Dale L. Warnick, a family man, accomplished businessman, and proud veteran, passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at the age of 73. He passed away at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. He married the love of his life, Rhonda Butcher on January 2, 1971, she survives. They celebrated 52 years of marriage. Dale was born November 24, 1949, in Clinton Indiana, to the late James (Jim) and Betty (Randolph) Warnick. He grew up in the local community and graduated from Covington High in 1968. Following his high school education, Dale embarked on a significant journey as he bravely enlisted in the US Army during the Vietnam War, 1969-1971. After his military service, Dale channeled his passion into the automobile industry. He dedicated 50 years of his life to this field, with a notable 25 years spent as the owner and operator of his own dealership, Dale Warnick Chevrolet in Rockville, Indiana. Dale was a member of the Cayuga American Legion, Kingman Masonic Lodge, Cayuga Christian Church, and Automotive Dealer Association. Additionally, Dale was a member of the Rivercrest Golf Club in Covington, Indiana, where he found joy in playing golf and cherished the moments spent with his close friends, and often embarking on golf trips with his buddies. Dale relished spending time with his loved ones, particularly attending his grandchildrens sporting events. One of his greatest joys was watching his granddaughter excel in volleyball at the University of Southern Indiana. He also took immense pride in his grandson service in the US Marines where he is currently serving overseas. Dales contributions and devotion to his family, friends and country will be forever remembered and cherished by all who knew him. He is survived by his children, Jena (Scott) Crowder of Avon, IN, and Ryan Warnick of Cayuga, IN; his grandchildren, Hayden Crowder and Audrey Crowder; his sister, Marge (Terry) Hennis; special Aunt Connie Warnick; brothers-in-law Terry (Kaye) Butcher, Tony (Geri) Butcher, Charlie Cook, and Bill Hawn, as well as sisters-in-law Paula Summers, Debbie Morgan, and Lisa (Wayne) Walters, multiple nieces and nephews, his close cousin, Steve Warnick, his good friend Jim Hawn and his loyal dog, Odie. Dale was preceded in death by his parents, James (Jim) and Betty ((Randolph) Warnick. He also mourned the loss of his sister, Janet Cook, and sisters-in-law Kandia (Butcher) Hawn and Jeanne (Butcher) Hetrick. Additionally, he was preceded by brothers -in-law Rick Butcher and Harold Summers, whose memories remained close to his heart. The family would like to send a special, heartfelt thank you to Heart to Heart Hospice for their care and understanding as well as the support they showed the family through a difficult time. Visitation will be held Sunday, August 27, 2023, from 12:00pm to 2:00pm (EST) with funeral service following at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Deverter Chapel, 215 N. Division Street, Cayuga, IN 47928. Dale will be laid to rest in Wolf Creek Cemetery, Wallace, Indiana.
