Dale Edward DickCastle Sr 88 of Danville passed away at 10:25 AM Wednesday July 6, 2005 at Vermilion Manor Nursing Home. He was born October 6, 1916 in St. Joseph, IL the son of Charles and Louie Richards Castle. Dale married Lillian Bernice Forman on February 18, 1940 in Danville; she preceded him October 10, 1992. Surviving are two sons, Lindsey Wayne (Doris Jean) Castle of Fairmount, Phillip Lee (Mary) Castle Sr of Sun City West Arizona, a daughter in-law Linda Castle of Kennewick, Wa. a brother in-law Robert L.(Regina) Foreman of Danville, nine grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. 1 son Dale Edward Castle Jr., two brothers don and Pete Castle, one sister Charlene Pollock preceded him in death. Dale worked for his father at the Texaco Station in Batestown, IL. Then worked at Hegeler Zinc Co, and later worked at Schaffer Brothers Gulf station, then operated Castles Gulf Service in Danville from 1949 to 1966. He then went to work for the Hyster Co in Danville until 1981, Dale had worked at different jobs until 1986.Dale was a born again Christian and a member of the Vermilion Heights Christian Church. He had served as elder and financial secretary. He was a member of the Red Vest volunteers at the Provena USMC Hospital from 1993 until his death. He liked working with the people at the hospital. Dale enjoyed working with wood, making different objects, working in his yard and reading books. He enjoyed being with people and helping them out. Dale was a 32 degree Mason. The family would like to thank many of Dales friends Kenny Wayne Birge, the members of the Vermilion Heights Christian Church, the Red Vest Volunteers at Provena USMC and the families on all four sides of Dales residence.
