Daisy Eileen Thompson Daisy E. Thompson, 84, of Danville, passed away at 5:35 p.m., Sunday, July 16, 2006, at Vermilion Manor Nursing Home, in Tilton, Illinois. She was born on November 11, 1921, in Villa Grove, Illinois, the daughter of Arthur Barnes and Georgia (Martin) Barnes. Daisy married Herman Thompson on January 12, 1940, in Covington, Indiana. He preceded her on August 28, 1998. Survivors include; a son, Thomas (Margaret) Thompson of Danville, Illinois; one brother, Ralph Barnes of Villa Grove, Illinois ; two sisters, Faye Jackson of Tuscola, Illinois and Dorothy Ewing of Liberty, Indiana; grandchildren, Mike White, Susan Kew and Richard Thompson; great-grandchildren, Jesse Craig, Ashley Terrell and Dale Terrell; and one great-great grandchild, Hunter Craig. Daisy was preceded in death by her husband; one daughter, Marsha White, and two brothers, Russell Barnes and George Barnes. Daisy was a homemaker. She loved cooking, sewing, knitting and playing cards with family and friends. Daisy truly enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. A celebration of Daisys life will be held on Thursday, July 20, 2006, at 10:00 a.m. at Lakeside-Barrick Funeral Chapel, 3550 N. Vermilion Street, Danville. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2006 from 4-7 p.m., at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery.
