D. Gordon Martin

CATLIN - D. Gordon Martin, 86, of Catlin passed away August 1, 2014 at Presence United Samaritan Medical Center in Danville. Born July 31, 1928 in Homer, Illinois, he was the son of Arval and Ethel (Smith) Martin. He married Linda Fenton on June 10, 1962 in Des Moines, Iowa. She preceded him in death. Gordon was a parts man for Hyster Company in Danville for many years. He was a member of Catlin Church of Christ. Gordon was a generous person who gave his time and money to many charities. He is survived by one son, James Martin of Catlin; one daughter, Molly (Bryan) Fourez of Salem, Oregon; four grandchildren, Amanda Fourez of Salem, Oregon, Heather Piehl of Westville, and Angel and Sarah Martin of Westville; and many great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Linda; and a son, Michael Martin. A service to celebrate Gordons life will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 6th at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. A memorial has been established for Concerned Women of America.
