Cyndy is survived by her father George "Bud" Scarlett; daughter Anna L. Dancey; brother Timothy (Shelly Larson) Scarlett; two nephews, Corey (Mattie Rose) Scarlett and Ryan Scarlett. Preceding her in death: mother; Margaret "Punky" Scarlett; grandparents Max & Dorothy Scarlett and Frank "Elmer" & Anna "Vi" Pickering; fianc Richard Dancey. Educated at Danville Lutheran School and Danville High School, Cyndy graduated in 1983 and continued her studies at Danville Area Community College (DACC) where she received her Associates Degree. She also is a graduate of Danville Beauty School. She was an employee of District 118 for 12 years, with her last assignment at Garfield School for 10 years, until June 2017 when she was diagnosed with cancer. Cyndy enjoyed a close relationship with her family and treasured the memories of numerous family trips with her cousins, aunts and uncles, including her teenage Florida spring break; Caribbean cruise; Pigeon Forge, TN; Amish Acres in Nappanee, IN; as well as large holiday gatherings. She strived to maintain a close bond with her young daughter while visiting American Girl Doll and attending Anna's favorite concerts in Chicago. Cyndy was fascinated with the food/cooking channels and, together, mother and daughter enjoyed experimenting with new recipes (we remember the Irish soda bread). Cyndy was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she was christened as an infant, and a celebration of her life will be held on Friday, September 7, 2018 at 2:00 PM in Trinity Lutheran Church, 824 E. Main Street, Danville, with Pastor Kent Tibben officiating. She will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville.
