Cynthia Ann George

Cynthia Ann (Hyche) George, 58, of Georgetown, IL, passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2016. She was the daughter of John C. Hyche and Patricia (Hathaway) Hyche, both of Danville, IL. Cynthia was a 1976 graduate of Schlarman High School and later attended Danville Area Community College. She spent the majority of her professional career working for Heatcraft Refrigeration as a sheet metal operator until the company closed. Outside of her time at Heatcraft, she also worked as a manager for the Ramada Inn and as an operator at ThyssenKrupp. Cynthia's joys in life were found directly within her children and grandchildren. Whether it was a sporting event or a doctor's appointment, she was always right by their side. She was also very passionate about providing for her family and friends. Cynthia's impact on the lives around her will greatly be missed. Cynthia is survived by her parents; her children, Jennifer (Shane) Berck of Indianola, IL and Dwight George (Samantha Ayer) of Perrysville, IN; her significant other, Kim E. Phelps of Georgetown, IL; her three beautiful granddaughters, Journey May Clark, Justice Fay Clark, and Lylah Kayann George; and her sister, Mary Beth Hyche of Danville, IL. She is preceded in death by her brother, John B. Hyche. A celebration of Cynthia's life will be held at 7:00pm, Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Sunset's Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E West St, Georgetown, IL. The visitation will be held from 6:00pm-7:00pm prior to her service at the funeral home on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be sent to Landmark Credit Union in Danville, IL to assist with her granddaughters' future education.
