Cornelius 'Neil' Gill

Cornelius "Neil" Gill, 82 of Greenville, NC, passed away early Saturday morning, January 30, 2021, at his home. He was born on May 20, 1938, the son of Cecil and Sinia (Tucker) Gill. He was united in marriage to Sharon K. Snively on August 12, 1960, in Catlin. Sharon preceded him in death, September 2016. Neil missed Sharon deeply, she was the love of his life. He will be missed by his son; Bradford (Teresa) Gill of Greenville, NC; his Grandchildren Byron Gill and Amber (Matt) Dickson of Greenville, NC; his Great Granddaughter Alora Dickson of Greenville, NC; several nieces and nephews. He was also, preceded in death by his parents, five brothers; Cecil Moten Gill, Plummer William "Bill" Gill, Evertte Fonza Gill, Fontine "tine" Fridley and Billie Joe Gill, four sisters; Thelma Ann Glover, Juanita Ora Jones, Pauline Fridley and Nellie Jane Nier. Neil worked for 25-plus years as a Storage Elevator Operator at Lauhoff Grain/Bunge Milling, 8 years as a machinist for Hurletron, Electronic Eye and as a butcher at Davies Meat Processing. He enjoyed his Yorkies; Benji and Noah, working outside in the yard and watching sports (especially the Fighting Illini). He was known to his family as the best husband, father, father-in law, grandfather, and great grandfather. He loved his family and cherished the time he spent with them. A Celebration of Neils Life will be held at 12:30 pm, Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Westville, Illinois 414 S State St. Westville, Illinois 61883 with Kenny Young officiating. Visitation will be held at 11:00 12:30 at the funeral home prior to his service. He will be laid to rest in the Sunset Mausoleum, Danville, next to his beloved wife, Sharon.
