Corey William Ricketts, 47, passed on Friday, April 15, 2022.
Corey was born June 19, 1974, in Detroit, Michigan to Bonnie de Manincor and William Ricketts. His father preceded him in death.
He is survived by his son, Austin Ricketts (Alissa McCain); grandson, Carter Ricketts; sister, Melissa Ricketts (Jaimes Royer); nephew, Billy Ricketts-Royer; and mother, Bonnie de Manincor (Richard de Manincor).
Corey spent much of his adolescent and adult life in Ogden, St. Joseph, and ultimately, Urbana, Illinois.
Corey was an energetic, fun-loving man who filled his life with his work, interests and his friends. His career path led to him being a union painter, working commercial and residential projects. He also developed an interest and knack for working concrete. His interest in art moved him to paint art and to design logos & tattoos. He enjoyed studying mythology of different civilizations.
Corey enjoyed watching and participating in all types of sports. He loved to watch boxing, hockey and baseball (especially Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Tigers). He played pool, threw darts and axes and fought in Tough Man contests. He also spent a lot of time working out at the gym.
Corey owned a pontoon boat and loved deep sea fishing and boat charters with his family. But, above all else, he loved his motorcycles and the friends he made while riding and working on them. He rode in rallies in Florida and South Dakota.
Corey's love of life and love for his friends made him the man he was. He truly will be missed by all.
Registration for a "Raising Hell in Heaven" motorcycle poker run will start at 10:30AM with kick stands up at 12PM and Celebration of Life at 6PM on June 25, 2022, at One-Ts Corner Pocket in Champaign, Illinois.
