Constance Jean 'Connie' Miller

Constance Jean Connie Miller, 74, of Danville, passed away at 12:01am on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at the North Logan Health Care Center in Danville. She was born on May 29, 1937, in Danville, the daughter of Thomas Edwin and Susie Elizabeth (Miller) Spears. Both deceased. Connie is survived by her very special life-long friend, Shirley Jones of Attica, IN.,her former husband, Richard Astell, and their three children, Bret (Cathy) Astell of Danville, Suzette (Matthew) Richardson of Danville, and Angela (Jason) Zarn of Tilton. Her present husband, J.H. Miller and his three children, Sarah Smith, Connie (David) Green, and Paul Miller. Twelve grandchildren, Christopher (Jody) Phillips, Luke (Amy) Phillips, Nicholas Pribble, Oushea Sandlin, Sangela Sandlin, Oushi Sandlin, Jack Sandlin II, Ben (Janelle) Astell, Matthew Astell, Gabrielle Zarn, Serenity Zarn, Ariel Zarn, Jason Zarn, and 15 great-grandchildren also survive her. In addition to her parents, her brother, Ronald Spears also preceded Connie in death. She was a Danville High School graduate and worked at the Harding Pharmacy for many years, and also devoted several years as manager for the Goodwill Industries. She furthered her education at the Midwest Bible College where she began her second career as a minister. Connie was an accomplished pianist, and would volunteer her talent in teaching others to play the piano. She will be missed by all that knew her. A Celebration of Connies Life will be held as a private family only service with burial to follow. Public visitation will be from 4-8pm on Friday, February 25, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home, located at 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville with Pastor Gage Norem officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Connies name to the donors choice.
