Connie Sue (Hoaks) Yount, 49, of Danville went to be with her mom, her two daughters, & her sister at 2:10pm, Wednesday, March 25th, 2009, at the home of her sister, Anne. She was born on July 16, 1959, in Danville, IL, the daughter of Paul and Betty (Green) Hoaks. Those she leaves behind include: the man of her life, Steve Ryg of Danville; her son, Charles Yount of Danville; her daughter, Cassandra (Jamy Taylor) Yount of St. Joseph, IL; her three granddaughters, Elizabeth & Amanda, both of St. Joseph, and Katelyn of Urbana; her grandson, Cody James Taylor whom Connie spent her last days waiting for. She loved being a grandma. Also surviving are: her father, Paul Hoaks of Danville; her four sisters, Mary (Ron) Johnson, Anne (Rick) Luksza, & Barb (Clifford) Watson, all of Danville, and Cindy (Keith) Hess of Westville; her brother, Michael (Connie) Hoaks of Westville; her several nieces & nephews, as well as great nieces & great nephews; and special friend of the family, Tom Eble of Danville. She was preceded in death by: her mother, Betty; her sister, Brenda Hoaks; her daughters, Christina Yount & Stephanie (Nikki) Ryg whom was killed by a drunk driver in 1999. Connie was a 1977 graduate of Oakwood High School. She was a volunteer at the VA before becoming ill. She enjoyed watching the Westville Tigers Football games as a very faithful fan, only missing two games in 9 years due to cancer. Connie was looking forward to another trip to Champaign. Her yell will be missed at those games. She was looked upon as a mom to a lot of kids. Connie enjoyed crocheting Afghans for everyone in her spare time. She was also a life-long fan of the Chicago Cubs. She had many special friends who will also miss her. A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00pm, Saturday, March 28, 2009, at Oakwood Cemetery, Oakwood, IL. Matt Filicsky will officiate the service. Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel of Westville is in charge of arrangements.
