Connie R Hallett

Connie R. {Krout} Laker Hallett, 66, of Westville, passed away at 9:34am, Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Danville, IL, on June 25, 1947, the daughter of Cecil and Opal {Gray} Krout, both deceased. She was first married to Marvin Laker for 24 years and later, she was united in marriage to Larry E. Hallett Sr. on March 13, 2004. He will miss her dearly. She will also be dearly missed by: her sons, Michael (Donna) Laker; her daughters, Dianna Laker Drake & Michelle Laker Hurt; her step-sons, Larry (Deena) Hallett, Mark (Marianne) Hallett, Bruce (Judy) Hallett, Eric (Joy) Hallett, and Brandon Hallett; her 10 grandchildren & 12 step grandchildren; her 2 great-grandchildren & 6 step great grandchildren; her brothers, Terry (Karen) Krout, Tony (June) Duffy, & Kevin (Jodi) Krout; and several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by one child. Connie worked as a tax auditor for Vermilion County Treasurers office. She enjoyed collecting owls, deer, and jewelry. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, Larry, and being able to spend as much time as she could with her family, especially all of her beloved grandchildren. A visitation will be held 2:00pm to 5:00pm, Sunday, June 22, 2014, at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, Westville. As per her wishes, Connie will be cremated and laid to rest at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given in her name to the American Cancer Society.
