Connie Brown

Constance "Connie" Ellen Brown, 67, of Monticello IL., passed peacefully Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at 7:06pm at Kirby Medical Center, Monticello. Connie was born in Decatur IL. on July 23rd, 1950, the oldest daughter of William "Bill" and Betty Kinsler (nee Deister). She was preceded in death by her father. She married William "Jerry" Brown on September 5, 1987, he survives. Also surviving are her mother, Betty, sons, Kevin (Gina) Garren of Webster Groves, MO. Aaron (Kristine) Brown of Tolono IL. and three grandchildren, Kellen and Caleb Garren and Avery Brown, they were the light of her life. Connie was a lifelong educator. She retired as Principal of Urbana Early Childhood. She remained involved in education as an Early Childhood Instructor at Parkland College and a Student Teacher Advisor at the University of Illinois. Connie was an avid gardener, golfer, and a friend to many. She was active in many community service organizations. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made in Connie's name to the following organizations where she regularly volunteered: Faith in Action of Piatt County, 1115 N. State St. Monticello, IL 61856, Habitat for Humanity Piatt County, 112 E. Washington, St. Monticello, IL 61856, or Kirby Medical Center Auxiliary, 1000 Medical Center Drive, Monticello, IL 61856.
