Colleen Joyce Morrison

Colleen Joyce Morrison, 87, of Georgetown, passed away at 12:15pm Thursday, November 3, 2016, at North Logan Health Care, Danville. She was born October 21, 1929, in Georgetown the daughter of Clarence and Augusta (Gephart) McMasters. They died when Colleen was four years old, she then lived with her grandmother, Inez Brazelton. She was united in marriage to George R. Morrison on June 18, 1948 in Georgetown. He preceded her in death on July 5, 2016. Colleen is survived by: her daughters, Debra (Michael) Knight of Covington, IN and Janet (Rodney) Hatcher of Cayuga, IN; three Grandchildren, Kelli (Brent) Morgan, Jacob Hatcher, & Lucas Hatcher; and one brother, Clarence "Bud" (Lilly) McMasters of Farmer City. Colleen was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband, and one son, David. Colleen worked for the Illinois Public Aid office, Hyster Company, and National Homes, although she preferred to be a full-time mother and wife. She was a member of United Methodist Church of Georgetown since 1944. Colleen and her husband, George, also attended the Cowboy Church in Hoopeston where her brother Bud was ministering. She was the head of the Antique division in the home economics building at the Georgetown Fair for 27 years and a volunteer at the information desk at Presence USMC in Danville. Colleen's greatest joy was her 2 daughters and three grandchildren. She felt so blessed to have them all in her life. The family would like to thank her caregivers, Alverta Maskel and Connie Morrison both of Georgetown A celebration of Colleens life will be held at 11:00am Wednesday November 9, 2016 at Georgetown United Methodist Church with Pastor Matt Filicsky officiating. She will be laid to rest in Georgetown Cemetery with her husband George. Memorial donations may be given in her name to Georgetown Methodist Church Renovation Fund.
