Perrysville, Ind. - Colby Micah Epling, 18, of rural Perrysville, passed away at 7:30 p.m. EDT Wednesday, July 7, 2021 due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

He was born April 3, 2003 in Charlotte, North Carolina, the son of Nathanael Micah and Sharon (Crist) Epling.

Survivors include his parents of rural Perrysville, Indiana; siblings: Noelle, Eli and Noah, all at home; maternal grandparents: Dick (Patty) Crist of rural Perrysville, Indiana; paternal grandparents: Smith (Judy) Epling of Spencer, West Virginia; aunts/uncles: Aunt BB (Chris); Sarah (Teddy), and Lois (Brandon); cousins: Victoria (Mitch); Hudson; Pierce; Zoe; Isaac; Dustin and Silas, and his best friend: Stephen Seest.

Colby was preceded in death by his cousin Gavin.

Colby was a recent 2021 graduate of the First Baptist Christian School in Danville, Illinois and was planning on attending college at Bob Jones University in the fall. He was currently working part-time at the Beef House in Covington. Colby was a member of the First Baptist Church of Danville where he was very active with the youth group and music team and was State Champion in Bible Preaching in the Illinois Association of Christian Schools. Colby enjoyed playing his trombone, reading, playing boardgames, working and spending time with his many friends.

Funeral service: Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at 10 a.m. CDT (Illinois Time) at the First Baptist Church of Danville, 1211 North Vermilion Street, Danville, Illinois 61832; Officiating: Pastor Paul Rebert; Burial: Lower Mound Cemetery north of Perrysville, Indiana; Visitation: Monday, July 12, 2021 from 4 to 8 p.m. CDT (Illinois Time) at the First Baptist Church of Danville. Contributions may be made to the Colby Epling Scholarship Fund, C/O First Baptist Christian School, 1211 North Vermilion Street, Danville, Illinois 61832. DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana is assisting the family with arrangements.
