Clyde Kingrey, 80, of Danville, died at 3:17 pm on Saturday, March 21, 2009 at his residence. Clyde was born May 2, 1928 in Sommershade, KY the son of John W. and Vera C. (Gooden) Kingrey. He married Anna Wright on October 20, 1950 in Danville. She preceded him in death on January 8, 2000. He was a truck driver all of his life, driving for many local trucking companies early in his career, last being employed by Rogers Cartage until his retirement in 1991. He won the Illinois State Rodeo Championship in the Tanker Division in 1967. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 26 for 38 years. He was a veteran of the Korean War from 1949 to 1951. He is survived by three sons: Michael Kingrey, Mark (Chris) Kingrey, and Randy (Stacy) Kingrey; eight grandchildren: Duane, Darcie, Darin, Shelby, Samantha, Matthew, Lindsay, and Jenna; six great grandchildren; two brothers: Veachel (Betty) Kingrey, Cecil (Nell) Kingrey; one brother-in-law: Bill (Edna) Wright; and special neighbor friends: Ken, Greg, Nancy, and Bill. Clyde enjoyed NASCAR, country music, and hanging with his friends at the Friendly Tavern. Per Clydes strong wishes, he will be cremated and there will be no services. Burial will be at Rossville Cemetery with Full Military Rites. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center handled the arrangements.
