Clyde Gene Carrigan, 93, of Georgetown, passed away on Friday, July 3, 2020 at VA Illiana Health Care System, Danville, IL. He was born on September 14, 1926 in Perrysville, IN, the son of Alfred and Agnes (Winter) Carrigan. He was united in marriage to Barbara Baber on April 24, 1949, until her passing on December 13, 2007. He will be dearly missed by niece, Diane Smith of Ridge Farm; great nephews, Dennis (Juli) Gardner of Ridge Farm, Thomas Gardner of Ridge Farm, AJ Todd of Arkansas, and Shannon Carrigan of Plainfield, IL; niece in law, Dana Carrigan of Carbon Hill, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, children, Brad Lee, Jeffrey Allen, and Carla Ann Carrigan; brothers, Dale and Paul Carrigan; nephew, Don Carrigan; several aunts and uncles. Clyde was proud to serve his country in the United States Navy in World War II. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Georgetown, American Legion Dornblaser Post 203 and the Danville Rotary. Clyde attended Eastern Illinois University. He owned and operated Carrigan Roofing and Siding in Tilton. He enjoyed ball room dancing and loved spending his time golfing, he had 13 hole-in-ones. A Celebration of Clydes life will be held at 12:00pm on Friday, July 10, 2020 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Georgetown, Illinois, 200 E. West St. Georgetown, Illinois 61846. A visitation will be held from 10:00am to 12:00pm prior to the service at the funeral home. Per Clydes wishes he will be cremated and buried at Georgetown Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations may be made in his honor to the United Methodist Church in Georgetown.
