Clifford James Kinate, 76, of Danville, Illinois passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Monday, July 23rd, 2018. Born in Forrest, Illinois on May 12th, 1942, the son of Milton and Marie Kinate, Cliff enjoyed the love of a large family, which included six brothers and sisters. His teenage years were spent working at his father's milk plant developing a strong work ethic that he would demonstrate throughout his life. Cliff attended Forrest-Strawn-Wing high school and later received a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Finance from Illinois State University. In addition, he obtained his graduate degree in Banking at the University of Wisconsin. A life-long learner, Cliff was an avid reader, interested in topics ranging from early explorers to American history, with a specific passion for the American West. He loved traveling throughout the United States and overseas with his family. Cliff was very proud of his service to his Country during the Vietnam War as an Air Force Staff Sergeant, in the field of electronic intelligence. As an intercept analyst, he was stationed in Trabzon, Turkey, finishing the remainder of his service at Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska. After settling in Danville with his wife, Mary Beth (Head), Cliff began a long and satisfying career in banking with Iroquois Federal, Palmer Bank, and Old National Bank where he eventually retired as a vice-president and commercial loan officer. Cliff was an important figure in his community, and over the years volunteered for the Knights of Columbus, Kiwanis, American Legion Post 174, Danville Country Club, the Elk's Club, and many others. During his life, Cliff served on the St. Paul Catholic Church finance committee, and was the past president of Crosspoint Human Services and Catholic Social Services. Cliff and Mary Beth raised a daughter, Sarah Beth, and had a happy, loving marriage for 41 years. After Mary Beth's untimely death in 2005, he married Anne Goodwin (Kitchen) in 2008. He happily embraced Anne's family as his own, including her three sons Matthew (Maria), Bryan (Melissa), and Daniel (Kristin). Throughout his life, Cliff was a loving, humble, compassionate, and generous man devoted to his family, friends, and his faith. Cliff is survived by his daughter, Sarah Beth (Nick) Webster and his wife Anne. Additionally, Cliff is survived by three brothers, Rollie (Alberta), Gordon (Debbie), John (Julie), two sisters, Sharon Schrof (Ed), Deanne Menendez (Bill), and a brother-in-law, Ed Henkhaus.
