Cleveland High Sr., 89, of Indianola, passed away at 12:20pm, November 13, 2013, at Presence USMC, Danville, with his loving family at his side. He was born January 20, 1924, in Indianola, to Merrit Elmer and Louella {White} High, both deceased. He married Naomi M. McNeese on December 11, 1940, in Danville. He is survived by: his children, Cleve Jr. (Darlene) High of Fairmount, Charles (friend, Teresa) High of Longview, Nancy L. Setser of Indianola, & Betty Wolfe of Fairmount; his eleven grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by: his loving wife of 70 years; 3 infant sons; four sisters; three brothers; a daughter-in-law; a granddaughter; and a son-in-law. Cleve worked for Gordon Almy for 15 years farming and 21 years at Danville Metal Stamping until his first heart attack forced him to retire in 1986. Then he and his wife mowed cemeteries and did odd jobs for the elderly in Indianola and Ridge Farm until their health deteriorated. He will be missed by everyone he knew. A celebration of Cleves life will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, November 16, 2013, at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, Georgetown, with Pastor James Blue officiating. He will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery, Indianola. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family.
