Cleopatra 'Cleo' Ellis

Cleopatra Cleo Ellis, 88, of Georgetown, passed away at 2:42pm, Wednesday, December 10, 2008, at Pleasant Meadows Christian Village, Chrisman. She was born on October 8, 1920, in St. Clair County, IL, the daughter of William W. and Isabell (Clark) Holman, both deceased. She was wed to Richard Ellis on February 2nd, 1945, in Decatur, IL, until his passing on September 4th, 1960. Survivors include: her son, James (Dorothy) Holman of Georgetown; her grandchildren, James (Lori) Holman of Georgetown, Jeffrey (Laura) Holman of Cayuga, IN, & Jannifer (Steve) Steward of Williamsport, IN; her step-grandchildren, Vickie (Wayne) Butler of Georgetown & Debbie (Jimmie) Souza of Plainfield, IL; her great grandchildren, Kevin, Jimmy, Ryan, Marcie, Tyler, & Desiree; her step great grandchildren, Michael her sisters, Ruby (Arthur) Jacoby of Decatur, IL, & Florence Miller of Cutler, IL; and her special friends, Farill Wimsett & Sandy Wimsett. Cleo was preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters. Cleo enjoyed doing embroidery, completing word searches and loved watching the Cubs play. A celebration of Cleos life will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, December 13, 2008, at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home. Pastor James Blue will officiate. Visitation will be 4pm to 7pm, Friday, December 12, 2008, at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Georgetown Cemetery.
