Dana, Ind. -- Clemietine Ashby, 71, of Dana, Indiana, passed away at 9:04 a.m. EDT Saturday (March 24, 2007) at Health South in Terre Haute, Indiana. She was born December 29, 1935, in Kosciusko,Mississippi, the daughter of the late Laney Rasberry and Verona Pearl Woods. She married Richard E. Ashby on June 11, 1954 in Danville, Illinois. He preceded her in death on June 18, 2001. Survivors include: one son, Clayton "Chip" Ashby of Terre Haute, Indiana; two daughters, Oneta(Keith R.)Jones of Clinton, Indiana and Rosellen McCarty of Quaker, Indiana; eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; one brother, Laney Waren(Carolyn)Rasberry of Oakwood, Illinois and one sister, Gloria Graves of Kentucky. She was preceded in death by one brother, Stevie Lee Smith. Clemietine retired from General Motors in Tilton,Illinois in 1991. She was a member of the U.A.W. Local 579 in Tilton, Illinois currently serving on the women's committee and the Georgetown Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was a 1954 graduate of Oakwood High School. Clemietine was a former 4-H leader and enjoyed gardening and fishing. Funeral services: 11 a.m. EDT Tuesday, March 27, 2007 at DeVerter Brothers Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Rev. Leon Korb; Burial: Pleasant Mound Cemetery west of Georgetown, Illinois; visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. EDT Monday, March 26, 2007 at the funeral home.
