Clayton Greer, 74 of Danville passed away at 10:25 am on Wednesday April 7, 2004 at his home. He was born on February 15, 1930 the son of Charles F. and Mary R. Goins Greer in Chicago, IL. He married Margaret Dorsey on November 14, 1952 in South Bend, IN and she preceded him in death on May 28, 1994. He later married Patricia Cravens on November 11, 1995 in Danville and she survives. Other survivors include one son: Tony (Debbie) Greer of Danville, two daughters: Monica A. Wilson and Laura K. (Richard) Jones both of Springfield, IL, one step-son: James ("Tabby") Hammer of Danville, one step-daughter: Nicole (Jason) Vickery of Covington, IN one brother: Leonard H. (Shirley) Greer of Port Charlotte, FL, one sister: Norma Cope of South Bend, IN, eight grandchildren: Joshua, Jennifer, Jacob, Jared, Jessica Greer, Jeremy and Tony (Diana) Wilson both of Jacksonville and Nathan Jones of Springfield, as well as four great grandchildren: Jeremy Wilson Jr., Shala Wilson, Kirsten Hammer all of Danville and Jasmine Wilson of Jacksonville, FL, several nieces and nephews and his beloved church family. He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife; Margaret and one brother: Charles Greer. Clayton was a member of the Danville Missionary Alliance Church where he served in various roles including, church Elder. He graduated from Tuly High School in Chicago and served in the United States Air Force from 1946 until 1952 and attained the rank of Sergeant. Clayton was an Architectural Engineer with Mason Hanger of Newport Indiana and retired in 1997. He custom designed jewelry and enjoyed target sports, golf and Euchre. He was also a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and a member of NRA.
