Clay Thompson, 26, of Westville, passed away at 9:10am, Tuesday, February 15, 2022, in Paris, Kentucky. He was born on February 17, 1995, the son of Larry Joseph and Paula Jo {Murdock} Thompson. He was united in marriage to Kayla Flynn on September 25, 2021. She will miss him dearly. He will also be missed by his parents, Paula Jo & Larry Joseph Thompson; his daughter, Ella Marie Thompson; his grandmother, Jan Harden; his sisters, Elizabeth (Benjamin) Rau & Emily (Charlie) Powell; his nieces & nephews, Margaret, Kaitlyn, William, & Joseph; his aunts, Connie Allen & Penny (Gary) Snyder; his uncles, Jeff (Rhonda) Thompson & James (Sheila) Murdock; his father-in-law, Kenneth Flynn; and his special friends, Billy & Brittany Carlton. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jr. & Phyllis Thompson and Billy & Sharon Murdock, and his mother-in-law, Lori Harden. Clay graduated from Georgetown-Ridge Farm High School in 2013 and earned his Associate degree at Parkland. He worked as a diesel mechanic and previously worked at the Local 841 Operating Engineer and for Travel Trailers and was currently working at Vermilion Valley RR. He was known to all his friends and family as a country boy redneck with a big heart who loved to hang out and enjoy a beer. He was the type of guy who really never met a stranger and could fix anything he set his mind to. He was a big-time family man and loved his baby girl so much that she had him wrapped around her finger. He loved his faithful dog, Lady, and enjoyed farming. He will be fondly remembered by all who had the chance to meet him. Memorial donations may be given to help with education and expenses for Ella Marie. Those can be made payable to Kayla Thompson at Landmark Credit Union, Danville, IL. A celebration of Clays life will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, February 26, 2022, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Georgetown, Illinois 200 E. West St. Georgetown, Illinois 61846 with Pastor James Blue officiating. Visitation will be 11:00am to 2:00pm on Saturday prior to his service at the funeral home.
