Claudia Marie Duell, 85, of Georgetown, passed away at 7:40pm, Wednesday, April 7, 2010, at Colonial Manor Nursing Home, Danville. She was born on September 9, 1924, the daughter of Claude and Permilia (Canaday) Galyen, both deceased. She was united in marriage to George D. Duell on September 18, 1942 in Georgetown, until his passing on May 9, 2001. Those Claudia leaves behind to mourn her include: her daughters, Deana Marie (David) Black and Glenda Sue (Eugene) Schwaderer, both of Georgetown; her grandchildren, Rhonda (Chris) Sigler of Farmington, NM, Cheryl (Corey) Ireland of Danville, Brenda Schwaderer of Gordon, NE, Steve Schwaderer of Broken Arrow, OK, & Jason (Holly) Schwaderer of Garden, KS; her great grandchildren, Ashton, Caleb, Brenden, Levi, & Morgan; her sisters, Elizabeth Banta of Georgetown & Betty Richards of Statesboro, GA; her sisters-in-law, Virginia Griffith of Georgetown, Sarah Grave of Danville, Wilma (Ed) Rice of Claremont, NH; & Lucille Blonde Lawson of West Lebanon, IN; her brother-in-law, James Shorty Duell of Westville; and numerous beloved nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers & two sisters. Claudia retired from Coates Orchards in Olivet after 26 years of service. She was a lifelong member of First Church of Christ in Georgetown. She was an avid bowler until the age of 79. She really enjoyed gardening, growing flowers, and mowing her large yard. She used to love going fishing with George. Claudia enjoyed doing word puzzle books. She loved & missed her favorite cat, Tiger. Most of all, Claudia loved her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren. A celebration of Claudias life will be held at 11:00am, Monday, April 12, 2010, at First Church of Christ, 503 N Main St, Georgetown. Steve Rutter will officiate. Visitation will be held two hours prior to service at the church. She will be laid to rest in Georgetown Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given in Claudias name to First Church of Christ of Georgetown or to Carle Hospice or to Colonial Manor Nursing Home Activities Fund.
