Clarence 'Speed' Vine Henschen

Clarence Vine "Speed" Henschen, 89, of Goreville, IL, formerly of Georgetown, IL, passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2019, at his home. He was born on August 7, 1929, in Vermilion County, Illinois, the son of Clarence C. and Ruby {Cunningham} Henschen, both deceased. He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Marilyn Hughes on June 28, 1953, at the First Church of Christ in Georgetown. She passed away on July 22, 2018 but they are now reunited in "Glorious Heaven".

Speed was best known for his love of the Lord, infectious smile, quick wit, and compassionate spirit. He touched many lives and will dearly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by: his three children, Mark (Debee) Henschen of Flagstaff, AZ, Philip Henschen of Georgetown, and Lisa (Mike) Crow of Herrin, IL; his seven grandchildren, Christopher Henschen, Amanda Lazzell, Jason Henschen, Jeremy Henschen, Jonathan Wills, Jennifer Noggle, and Eric Henschen; his twelve great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; his sisters, Helen Johnson of Concord, NC & Adonna (Bob) Jones of Gulfport, FL; his brother-in-law, Robert Tucker of Rancho Cucamonga, CA; several more extended family, as well as many special nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Virginia Trembly & Carol Tucker; his brother, Jack Henschen; sister-in-law, Gloria Henschen; his two brothers-in-law, Harry Trembly & Joe Johnson; his daughter-in-law, Cindy Henschen; and his nephew, Victor Snyder.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, June 22, 2019, at First Church of Christ, 503 N Main St, Georgetown. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service at the Church.
