Clarence Lynn Burchett

Clarence Lynn Burchett, of Covington, passed away at 7:14 PM Monday, December 30, 2019 at Lifes Journey in Avon, IN.

Lynn was born August 21, 1939 in Jonesville, VA, the son of Andrew and Myrtle Burchett. Survivors include son, Brett (Tammy) Burchett of Covington and daughter, Melissa (Bob) Morris of Normal, IL; Granddaughters, Taryn (Ryan) Scrogham, Kelsey Kellams, Lorraine Morris and Rebecca Morris; Great- grandson, Vincent Ryan Scrogham; sisters, Nancy Kate Horton, Jo Ann Horton and brother, Earl Burchett. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ruby Meyers; brothers, Don Burchett, Charles Burchett and Paul Burchett.

Lynn has lived in the Covington area since 1958. He enjoyed breeding and raising horses, pheasant and quail hunting, golfing and watching NASCAR. He was an avid fan of the Indianapolis Colts, Los Angeles Dodgers and the Tennessee Vols. Lynn loved spending time with his granddaughters and watching them become successful young adults. Also, Lynn attended Christian Union Church in Covington.

Lynn graduated from Flatwood High School in Jonesville. He served in the US Army Reserves from 1963-1968. He began his career at Olin/Flexel in 1958 and retired in 1995. He maintained many friendships on the golf course at Rivercrest Golf Club where he was a member and played daily if possible.

A celebration of Lynns life will be held at 4:00 PM EST on Sunday, January 5, 2020 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Covington, Indiana 420 3rd St. Covington, Indiana 47932 with Tony DeMoss officiating. Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM EST on Sunday, January 5, 2020 at the funeral home. Memorials can be made in Lynns name to the Christian Union Church in Covington.
