Clarence K. Turner, 92, of Covington, IN, passed from this life to be with the Lord on June 12, 2020 at the Creasy Springs Legacy Campus in Lafayette, Indiana, where he had resided since September 2019. Clarence was born in rural Perrysville, IN on June 29, 1927 to Hubert C. Turner and Laura J. (Snyder) Turner. Clarences first marriage was to Barbara J. (Sparks) Turner, where their marriage lasted 50 years before her passing. In April of 2001, Clarence married Reva L. (Cole) Weller- Turner. Their marriage lasted until her passing in June of 2017.

Clarence has two surviving sons, Michael F. (Karen) Turner of Cayuga, IN and Jeffrey K. (Lisa) Turner of Williamsport, IN; five grandchildren, Major Katharyn E. Turner, USAF of O Fallon, IL, Kimberly L. (Rev. Timothy) Bleigh of Cayuga, IN, Matthew K. (Kara) of Columbia City, IN, Michael D. Turner of Greenwood, IN, and Jacob D. (Maysa) Turner of Perrysville, IN; four great grandchildren, David Turner, Josiah Turner, Abbigail Lewis, and Gwendolynn Lewis; three step-children, Steve (Kathy) Weller of Bloomington, IN, Kathy (DR. Fred) of Monticello, IN, and Mary Ellen (Donna) Weller of Carol Stream, IL; Six step grandchildren; and three step great grandchildren. Clarence has five surviving sisters and one brother, Alrene Snyder of Covington, IN, Annabeth Stark of Danville, IL, Max Turner of Lockport, IL, Sonna (Ronnie) Crowder of Covington, Naomi (Roy) Hershberger of Covington, IN, and Mary Lou (John) Morris of Covington, IN; one surviving sister in law, Norma Turner of Covington, IN; and many nieces nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Hubert C. and Laura J. Turner; his first wife, Barbara J. Turner; second wife, Reva L. Weller-Turner; brother, Lewis H. Turner; baby sister, Mossie Kate Turner; brother in law, Russell Stark; sister in law, Joyce Turner; and step child, Ronald Weller.

Clarence attended Perrysville Elementary and High School grades 1 through 12 and graduated in 1945. From September 1945 to October of 1946, he served his country as a PFC, Forward Observer, H Battery, 11th Marines 3rd Battalion, 1st Division, and was stationed in Tientsin, Northern China.

Clarence was brought up on a farm and was involved in farming most of his life. Alongside his parents and in laws he raised grain crops and livestock, then on his own, with the help of his two sons. He always held other jobs while he farmed. In his early days he worked with Dewey Prather Massey Harris Implements and Rileysburg Grain Elevator. After that, he worked 26+ years at Olins in Covington, IN at Chemical and Maintenance Depts., Fire Brigade, Maintenance Supervisor (Clarence was a trained millwright), and a short stint with Danville Junior College Building and Grounds. He later worked with Flexel in Covington, IN as a Fire, Safety, and Security Supervisor. Clarence enjoyed reading, traveling, playing golf, attending his grandchildrens school activities, and looking at their 4-H projects. He loved being with family, and loved watching golf, the Chicago Bears, Indianapolis Colts, and Big 10 basketball: especially IU. Clarence attended Waterman Baptist Church and enjoyed singing and listening to several different kinds of music.

A private family service will be held at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Cards may be sent to the family. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials may be made in Clarences name to the Waterman Baptist Church, 8560 W St. Rd. 234, Kingman, IN 47952, the Williamsport Christian Church, 20 East 3rd St., Williamsport, IN 47993, or the Alzheimers Association at 225 N. Michigan Ave., Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
