Clarence Elliott

Georgetown, IL - Clarence Elliott, 84, of Georgetown, Illinois, passed away at 6:17 a.m. CDT Monday, June 11, 2012 at home. He was born May 15, 1928 in Georgetown, Illinois a son of Enos Roy and Sophie Belser Elliott. He married Mary C. Chow June 25, 1950 in Georgetown, Illinois. She survives. Other survivors include two sons, William (Kim) Elliott of Cayuga, Indiana and Don (Mary) Elliott of Sidell, Illinois, three grandchildren, Kristina Renee Turner, Julia Jarree Neier and Jamie Lee Elliott, three step-grandchildren, Adam Surowka, Rachel Surowks and Bethany Surowka. He was preceded in death by a brother, Clyde Elliott and a step-grandson, Matthew Surowka. Clarence worked for fourteen years at the Newport Ammunition Plant as an equipment operator. He formerly worked for Clark Chevrolet for twelve years. Clarence also farmed and enjoyed helping people fix things. He was a fifty year member of the Eugene United Methodist Church. Graveside services and burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 14, 2012 at Thomas Cemetery in Newport, Indiana with Rev. Jon Overby and Rev.Don Morgan officiating. There will be no visitation.
