Clarence W. "Cy" Hubbard, 80, of Ridge Farm, passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2022, at his home with his family by his side. He was born on June 10, 1941, in Danville, IL, the son of John and Cecile (Jenkins) Hubbard. He was united in marriage to Janet Chesnut on July 4, 1983.

He is survived by his loving wife, Janet; children, John (Debbie) Hubbard of Hazelton, IN, Mia (Ryan) Reifsteck of Danville, Lisa Frailey of Chrisman, and Stephanie (Steve) Gage of Chrisman; grandchildren, Brooke Hubbard, Cody Hubbard, Chad Minick, Holly Smith, Johnny Leverenz, Jenna Leverenz, Logan Reifsteck, Blake Reifsteck, Drew Reifsteck, Shannon (Lacey) Frailey, Travis Frailey, Claudia Gage, and Brendan Gage; great grandchildren, Hudson DeBonis, Xavier Smith, Emmett Frailey, and Etta Frailey. Cy was preceded in death by his parents, John and Cecile, and daughter, Jancy Hubbard.

He was a member of Masonic Lodge in Danville. From July 1959 -July 1962 he served in the US Army, attending Basic at Ft. Benning, GA and Finance School at Ft.Harrison, Indianapolis. He served 2 years at Cooke Barracks, Goeppingen Germany. He was part of the 4th Armored Div in the finance office. He was employed at Second National Bank in Danville, then as a manager at Sears in Danville, and finally retired as a salesman at Countryside Chevrolet in Chrisman.

Cy enjoyed waterfowl hunting and fishing. He loved telling a good joke and taking pictures of family events providing memories for all to share. He was a very stoic and wise man who often had a way of expressing his wisdom through sayings we call Cy-isms. He had an attention to detail second to none. He applied this value to everything he did and it was obvious to those who loved him. Cy was always involved with and supported his kids and grandkids in their sporting events, never missing games. He was so proud and adored his family very much and they will miss him dearly. He was eager to be reunited with his beloved daughter Jancy.

A celebration of Cys life will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 200 E. West St. Georgetown, Illinois 61846. A visitation will be held from 11:00am to 1:00pm on Saturday prior to his service at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Hoult Cemetery in Chrisman, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given in his name to Georgetown American Legion Honor Guard.
