Oakwood- Clarence "Bud" Owen Woodard, 92, of Oakwood, passed away at his home on September 26, 2011. He was born on October 18, 1918 in Bronson, IL to Bartlett and Fern Conger Woodard. He married Lucy Dukes Kinney on June 10, 1971 in Champaign, IL. She survives. Also surviving are a sister, Mary Ann Irwin of Oakwood; three step-sons, Norland (Luann) Kinney of Fairmount, Tim (Sue) Kinney of Fithian, and Cullen "Cuff" Kinney of Danville; five grandchildren, Jadawn (Matt) Myrick of Fairmount, Scott Kinney of Danville, Jennifer (Pete) O'Brien of Danville, Matthew (Stephanie) Kinney of Westville, and Kristian (Michael) Kinney Bray of Bismarck; eight great-grandchildren, Lane Myrick, Katelyn Myrick, Wrigley O'Brien, Harper O'Brien, Macie Kinney, Faith Kinney, Owen Kinney, and Kendra Bray; and a special friend Larry Hicks. Bud was preceded in death by a brother Bartlett Woodard, sisters Dorothy Kinney, Thelma Williams, Helen Ruth, and two great-grandchildren, Riley Myrick and Tristen Kinney. Bud served his country in the US Air Force during WWII. He was a self-employed contractor and a jack-of-all trades. Besides being a handyman, Bud liked to fish, hunt, and go mushroom hunting. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. A graveside service for Clarence "Bud" Woodard will be held at 11 AM on Friday, September 30, 2011 at Stearns Cemetery in Fithian. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville is in charge of arrangements. Cremation rites have been accorded at Sunset's onsite crematory.
