Clara "Kathy" Kathleen (Silvey) Weidenburner of Georgetown went to be with the Lord on April 13, 2012. She had complication after hip surgery at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville. Kathy just celebrated her 75th birthday. She was born on April 4, 1937 to Charles "Russ" and Margaret (Watt) Silvey in Danville IL. She grew up with a very large extended family. There was never a dull moment with 9 brothers and sisters around. Siblings are Joan (Raymond) Silver of Georgetown, William "Bill" (Joan) Silvey of Danville, Charles "Butch" (Marcella) Silvey of Springhill FL, Connie (Randy) Messenger of Fithian, Jim (Pam) Moreman of Danville, Kimberly (Robert) Cesinger of Paris, Dreama Grant of Danville, Cheryl Newell of Brownsberg IN, and Terry (Judy) Moreman of Danville. Being blessed with a larger family she had lots of special nieces, nephews and Great nieces and nephews. Kathy is preceded in death by her brothers Butch and Bill Silvey. After retirement Kathy moved from her long time home in Westville to Georgetown where she resided with her son Danny Smith and next door to her daughter's family Melissa (Mark) Craft and her 3 wonderful grandchildren Aaron, Kayla and Brady Craft. She also had 2 adorable Great grandsons Aston and Weston Craft. Kathy worked for years as a librarian at the Westville Public Library with her good friend Shirley Moretto. She also worked in the activities department at Vermilion Manor Nursing Home in Tilton. She enjoyed her job, talking and spending time playing games with the residents. Kathy also enjoyed her co-workers "The Activities Ladies" whom she considered her friends. Her favorite hobby was reading. She surely read over a million books in her lifetime. After retirement she took on the hobby of watching Soap Operas. She thought the Soap Network was one of the best inventions. Then she could watch her soaps day and night and even watch old reruns. Soaps had to take a side burner if Figure Skating was on. Michelle Kwan was her favorite skater. She had a green thumb when it came to planting and growing flowers. Other favorite things she liked were stopping at every garage sale she saw, country music, black coffee, Arby's roast beef sandwiches and crossword puzzles. One of her favorite memories was her trip to London with her sister Joan. Kathy was truly one of a kind! A Celebration of her life will be held at Bethel Baptist Church in Georgetown on Friday, April 20th at 2pm. The Celebration will be lead by her brother- in-law Rev. Raymond Silver. This is a Celebration of Life, not a funeral. There will not be a visitation or funeral service. Flowers and food are not needed. All we request are our great friends and family, loving thoughts, fond memories, well wishes and healing prayers!
