Clara Lane

Clara Lane, 95, of Danville passed away at 10:24 PM on December 15, 2023 at Goldwater Care in Danville, IL.

Clara was born on August 12, 1928 the daughter of Theodore and Mary (Martin) Quick in Crookston, MN. She married Donald Lane on August 16, 1947 and he preceded her in death on August 28, 1990.

Survivors include her grandchildren, Mike (Keri) Garfield of Danville, IL, JD (Nikki) Garfield of Louisville, KY, Aaron (Brittani) Lane of Westville, IL, Megan Rich of Neenah, WI, Johnathan Lane of Hoopeston, IL and Matthew Lane of Danville, IL, brothers, Wayne (Elaine) Quick of Holt, MI and Robert Quick of Danville, IL, as well as twelve great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Clara is preceded in death by her parents, infant brother, husband, Donald Lane, two sons, Mark Lane and Steven Lane, one daughter, Linda Longfellow, two brothers, Don Quick and Clarence Quick, and one sister, Betty Goff.

Clara was a member of the Bowman Avenue United Methodist Church and was retired from the A&P with over 25 years of service. She enjoyed spending her free time volunteering at Fair Hope Childrens Ministry, bowling and was also a member of the American War Dads and the Danville Womens Club.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, IL 61834. Pastor John Tennyson will officiate. Burial will be held in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9-10:00 AM on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bowman Avenue United Methodist Church or Fair Hope Childrens Ministry.
