Clara Clay Lesure

Clara Clay LeSure, 75, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 8, 2022 at Champaign-Urbana Nursing and Rehab in Savoy, IL.

Clara was born on June 21, 1946 in Memphis, Tennessee to the union of M.L. LeShoure, and Alberta Holden LeShoure. She had 12 brothers and sisters. Clara worked at ACH HumKo plant in Champaign, Illinois for 28 years until she retired. She worked at the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign for 6 years until she was no longer able to work because of illness.

Clara was preceded in death by her father, M.L. LeShoure, mother, Alberta Holden LeShoure, 5 sisters, 3 brothers, and 2 uncles.

Clara is survived by her children, Antoine LeSure of Urbana , Illinois, Curtis LeSure of Champaign, Illinois. Also surviving is her daughter-in-law Bridgette LeSure, daughter-in-law Veronica LeSure, sister Deborah LeShoure, brothers, Herbert LeShoure, Billie LeShoure, and Charles LeShoure, and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.

Clara was baptized as a Jevohvahs Witness. She loved going out in ministry to witness to other people and friends. Clara was a loving and giving person. She loved to entertain and visit with her family and friends. She volunteered several times a week to help other residents at the Circle of Friends Adult Day Care Center, in Champaign, Illinois. Clara was an avid traveler. She loved traveling all over the world.

Memorial services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, April 16, 2022 at Sunset Funeral Home, 710 N. Neil Street, Champaign, Illinois 61820. There will be no public visitation.
