Christopher Michael Puhr

Christopher M. Puhr, 38, of Indianapolis, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 3rd at his home.

He was born on March 18, 1986, in Champaign, the son of Michael and Joann (Makemson) Puhr. He is survived by his parents; girlfriend, Meagan White; Daughters, Yamanya and Mila; and his brother, Andrew Puhr (Elizabeth). Also surviving are numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Chris lived life to the fullest. He was a jack of all trades like his father, enjoying the outdoors and working with his hands. His passions took him from Danville to the suburbs of Chicago where he worked in landscaping, to California where he started his own residential services business, and finally settling down in Indianapolis with his young family. He was most recently initiated into IBEW Local 481 as a 3rd-year apprentice. In his free time, he enjoyed making glass art, working on his motorcycle, skateboarding with his dog, Zeus, and playing with his daughter, Mila. Chris will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Edward and Dorothy Puhr; his maternal grandparents, Hubert and Margaret Makemson; a sister, Andrea Puhr; as well as too many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A Celebration of Life for Christopher will take place at 4PM on Sunday, May 12, 2024, with Pastor Dave Garver officiating at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 N Vermilion Street Danville, Illinois. Visitation will be from 2PM-4PM Sunday, May 12, 2024, at the funeral home. A private burial will take place in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.

A gathering of family and friends, with food and beverages, will take place at the GAO Grotto following the funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, a trust is being set up in Mila's name to support her continuing education.
