Christopher Michael Farren

Christopher Michael Farren left this life suddenly Friday, November 20, 2020. He was born August 2, 1972 to James (Diane) Farren and Teri (Richard) Pate in Danville, IL. He was an adjunct professor at St. Charles Community College and a contracted Safety Compliance Director at General Motors in St Louis, MO. He married the love of his life, Mary Farren and raised a family of six children, Connor (Marissa) Farren, Klayton Pate, Isaac Crawford, Shelby (Mikayla) Farren, Isabella Crawford, and Abigail Crawford. He took great pride in being a loving husband and an adoring father. He was their protector, provider, and greatest source of love and support. The void he has left can never be filled. They will honor his memory by living the amazing lives he knew they would live. He loved his family. There are no other words to explain it. He had a favorite saying, "Family is everything, everything else is just everything else." To say he will be missed is an understatement of epic proportions. He is eternally loved by his late sister Julie Farren, big brother Jamie (Heather) Farren, John Baxley, Richie (Juanita)Pate, and Brian (Rebecca) Pate, special cousins Brian (Carolyn) Farren and Gordon (Gina) Wasson, and a beloved nephew Tyler Baxley. His absence will be felt by several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was an amazing man. Anyone who knew him loved him. He never met a stranger. He was such a formidable force in the lives of those who were privileged to meet, know, and love him. He had countless friends, far too many to list, but each individually loved. Two of his closest friendships that he treasured over the span of decades were with Rick Omundson and Jay Meeker. They will miss his larger than life presence and humor dearly. Chris enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was the life of the party wherever he went. His boisterous laugh, side-splitting laugh out loud jokes and stories will live on in all who heard them, usually always more than once. He was known for his karaoke renditions of all genres, but there were a few that will never be forgotten. He was a mans man with a love of beer, bacon, and bullets, yet he had the kindest, softest, most compassionate heart any man has ever had. He never hesitated to protect and stand up for his beliefs or the beliefs of others near and dear to him. He had a love of superheroes since childhood, he would still read comics and there is one by his bed to this day. He once said that is where he got his sense of justice and importance of doing the right thing, no matter how difficult it may be. So, it is fitting to end with a quote from his favorite superhero, Captain America, "I know you are doing what you believe is right, and thats all any of us can do. That is all any of us should do. So, no matter what, I promise you if you need me, Ill be there." Although he may not be here in physical form, his presence will always be felt, as he will be watching over us all in spirit. He just would not have it any other way. There was a private family service, and his family was assisted by Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Westville, Illinois 414 S State St. Westville, Illinois 61883
