Christopher Michael 'Chris' Strader

Christopher Michael "Chris" Strader, 63, of Danville, IL passed away at 5:44 PM on May 31, 2023 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.

Chris was born on March 22, 1960 the son of Robert and Esther (Divan) Strader, Sr in Danville, IL. He married Betsy Sempsrott on August 6, 1983 in Danville and she survives.

Survivors include his wife, Betsy Strader of Danville, IL, his children Brock (Krista) Strader of Covington, IN and Carley (Justin) Fredericks of Danville, IL, his grandchildren, Charley and Adeline Strader both of Covington, IN, his siblings, Robert (Ann) Strader, Jr, of Portland, OR, Laurie (Gary) Dickerson of Union, KY, Beth (John) Lashbrook of Springfield, IL and Tim (Cathy) Strader of Bloomington, IL, his mother-in-law, Gloria Sempsrott of Danville, IL as well as several brother and sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews, and many close friends.

Chris is preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law, Charles Sempsrott.

Chris is a member of Second Church of Christ and retired from Quaker Oats/Pespico. He enjoyed spending his free time playing golf, refereeing, umpiring, boating, relaxing on the beach in the sun and mowing his lawn. Most of all, Chris loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at Second Church of Christ in Danville, IL 3350 East Voorhees Street Danville, Illinois 61832. Kiley Garrison will officiate. Entombment will be in Sunset Memorial Park in Danville, Illinois Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 PM Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at Second Church of Christ.

Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois, 61834 is assisting the family with arrangements.
