Christopher Markwell, 29, of Danville, passed away at 7:55pm on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at his home. He was born on October 7, 1982, in Effingham, IL, the son of Dave and Marsha (Fleming) Markwell. Chris is survived and will be sadly missed by his parents, Dave and Marsha Markwell, his daughter, Brylie Nicole Markwell, and his brother, Michael (Kaitlyn Mansfield) Markwell. Chris will also be missed by his uncle; Howard Markwell of Greenup, IL, three aunts; Linda (Joe) Barnes of West Virginia, Joyce Stonebraker of Oakwood, Patti (Brian) Murphy of Charleston, IL, his grandmother, LaVada Markwell, and his special niece, Desiree Markwell of Westville whom he loved very much. Also surviving him are his six cousins, Brandon (Kari) Murphy of Schaumburg, IL, Amy (Seth) Gaines of Washington D.C., Jason (Lindsey) Murphy of Danville, Clayton (Kirsty) Murphy of Charleston, IL, Jordan Markwell of Nashville, Tenn, Jason (Christina) Barnes of North Carolina, as well as his many many friends. He is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Lee Markwell, Bill Fleming, and his grandmother, Ruby Fleming. Chris was a graduate of Oakwood High School and was employed with Pioneer Seed Plant located in St. Joseph, IL. He was very athletic during his school years, playing in a variety of sports with his main focus on wrestling. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and anything else to do with being outdoors. He was always willing to help others at a moment's notice but his favorite thing was just being a dad to his daughter, Brylie Nicole. A Celebration of the Life of Christopher Markwell has been scheduled for 10:00am on Monday, April 16, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home, located at 3940 N. Vermilion Street in Danville with burial to follow at Stearns Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be from 2-6pm on Sunday, April 16, 2012 at the funeral home. Pastor Dave Birch has been asked by the family to officiate the service. The Markwell family has set up a trust fund in Brylie's name at the United Community Bank in Danville.
