Danville - Christopher Andy Williams, 33, of Danville passed away at 1:13 AM on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville. He was born on August 30, 1980 in Danville, the son of George and Jean (Gleespen) Williams. He first married Angela Lacson with whom he had a son, Zachary. Following his first marriage, he married Miranda Jean Smith on June 14, 2008 in Danville. She preceded him in death on July 7, 2009. He is survived by a son, Zachary Williams of Cyclone, PA; parents, George and Jean Williams of Danville; sister, Melissa (Brad) Dixon of Phoenix, AZ and nephew Marshall Joel Dixon; girlfriend Heather Price of Danville; paternal grandmother, Helen Williams of Opelousas, LA; and several aunts and uncles. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, George Joseph “Joe” Williams, paternal grandfather George N. Williams, and maternal grandparents, Howard J. and Geneva Gleespen. After graduating from DHS, Chris served his country by enlisting in the United States Marine Corp followed by the National Guard in which he was still serving. He was sent on three deployments in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Croatia and achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant. Chris, or “Andy” as his family knew him, was currently working as a Corrections Officer at the PSB in Danville. He had a love for music and enjoyed singing karaoke as well as acting in productions in high school. Chris also enjoyed riding his motorcycle. He will be remembered for his love of entertaining and playing jokes and for his ability to make people laugh. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Christopher Andy Williams will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at the Sunset Memorial Park Chapel Mausoleum in Danville. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville is in charge of arrangements. Private burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the VFW.
