Mary Christine (Campbell) Cox, 77, of rural Bismarck passed away at home on Sunday March 6, 2016 with family by her side. Christine was born August 5, 1938 in Danville the daughter of J.M. and Ruth (Lakin) Campbell. She married Dean Cox on August 6, 1961 at the Methodist church in Stateline, IN., he survives. Also surviving Christine are two children; Connie (Brian) Wade and Marvin L (Debbie) Cox, two grandchildren; Jennifer Leigh Cox and William "Billy" Wade and many nieces and nephews. Christine was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers John and Robert Campbell. Christine was a farm wife and school teacher. As a young woman she worked at the A&W root beer stand then later in life she taught at Danville, Rossville and Hoopeston taking time off to raise a family. After retiring from teaching, she worked during tax season at H&R Block. She enjoyed going on cruises and has visited the Campbell Castle in Scotland and got to meet the Duke. She liked to watch college basketball games on television and cheered on the Illini and Ohio State, Thad Matta, the coach, was one of her students. She liked to shop, bake and be involved with her grandchildren. A celebration of Christine's life will be held at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center on Friday, March 11, 2016 at 10:00 am. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, March 10, 2016 from 4:00pm - 7:00pm. Memorials can be made in Christine's name to the charity of the donor's choice.
