Christine Chris Hegg Gross, 89, of Covington, IN, unexpectedly passed away Sunday May 26, 2019, surrounded by family. She was born on March 5, 1930 to Louise Hegg. Chris married Stanley Gross on September 9, 1950.

Chris graduated from Covington High School in 1948, she enjoyed meeting up with classmates at the annual Alumni banquets. She had fond memories of working as a switch board operator for Bell telephone. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her final day was spent at a family barbeque in Pensacola FL, surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Chris was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Gross; her mother, Louise Hegg and brothers Albert and Harold Hegg; and son in law Ron Gore. She is survived by her brother Jim (Barb) Hegg of Covington, IN; son Stan (Kathy) Gross of Woodstock, GA; daughter Connie Gore of Covington, IN; 5 grandchildren Heather Salts, Holly (John) Magee, Heidi (Dave) Wharton, Lane Salts, Candice (Jason) Ellis and by her 10 great grandchildren Andre and Marcus Archer, Ross Magee, Indya and Ivan Trahan, Ireland Adkins, Iyla Wharton, Lily Salts, Kaylin and Kinsley Ellis, along with many very special nieces and nephews. She will deeply be missed.

A private service will be held Saturday June 1, 2019. Memorials may be sent to the charity of the donors choice. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center of Covington, located at 420 3rd Street, assisted her family with arrangements.
