Christina Marie Allen

Christina Marie Allen, 88, of Fithian went to be with the Lord on Wednesday September 13, 2017, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. Christina was born the daughter of Robert and Susan (Harper) Smith at their home on March 13th, 1929 in Fithian, IL. Christina married in 1947 to Sam Runyan, he preceded her in death in 1988. Together they had four children, Sam Jr., Diane (Mike) Haworth, Sandy Runyan and Robert (Donna) Runyan. She later married Orville Allen in 1979, he preceded her in death in 2002. Christina had two step daughters from that marriage, Nancy (Denis) Allen Abbott and Margaret (Bruce) Allen Munda. She had eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Christina was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands; Sam and Orville, two daughters; Diane and Sandy and one grandson, Troy. Christina loved to garden, shop and cook. She worked at several local bakeries, restaurants and nursing homes in the Danville area. A Celebration of Life for Christina will be held at Sunset's Oakwood Chapel, 105 E. South Main St. Oakwood, IL on Monday September 18, 2017 at 11am. Burial at Stearns Cemetery to follow. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. The family asks that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to Faith in Action in Christina's name.
