Christie Harrington

Christie Harrington, 59, of Oakwood, went to be with the lord at 9:31 PM on October 29, 2013 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. She was born on November 13, 1953 in Paducah, KY, the daughter of Robert William and Hazel Mae (Cook) Ware. She married Dan Harrington on February 15, 1981 in Bismarck, IL. He survives. Surviving her are her husband and soul mate, Dan Harrington, four daughters, Summer (Kamell) Rassas of AZ, Flahnery (Frank) Ybarra of Champaign, IL, Wynter (Arturo) Peguero of St. Joseph, IL, and Ashley (Chase) Carter of Danville, two brothers, Jerry Ware of Louisiana, Terry (Susan) Ware of Shelbyville, IL, one sister, Debbie (Lane) Hewett of Florida, twenty grandchildren, Mark, Giselle, Janea, David, Journey, Joseph, Frank III, Mario, Timmy, Mercedez, Salome, Antonio, Vincent, Dezarieh, Jasmine, Christie, Gabriel, Orion, Belvidere, and Fiona. Christie was preceded in death by her parents. Christie was a gifted writer publishing her first book Beyond Appearances in 1998. Christies love for music began early at the age of three, singing with her father, later several bands and co-writing and singing Christian songs with her husband. Christies love for her husband, children and grandchildren was unsurpassed. Anyone who has ever met Christie has been inspired by her loving heart and strength. Christie will be missed by all who knew her. A Celebration of Life memorial service for Christie will be held on Sunday, November 3, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville with Pastors Drew Mentzer and Dave Wickens officiating.
