Christa Cunningham

Westville Christa Cunningham, 72, of Westville passed away on March 11, 2023 at Accolade Healthcare of Danville.

Christa was born on December 24, 1950 in Growiesen, Germany, the daughter of Otto and Franziska (Stadler) Stockinger. She married Bruce Cunningham on June 24, 1978 in Danville, IL and he preceded her in death on September 30, 2013.

Survivors include her special niece, Petra (Thomas) Lang of Hauzenberg, Germany; sister, Monika (Rupert) Wick, brother, Otto (Christine) Stockinger; nephews, Rupert (Astrid) Wick, Thomas (Karin) Stockinger, Niece Ilona S, all of Growiesen, Germany; grandnephews, Alex Lang of Hauzenberg, Germany, Patrick (Jessy) Stockinger, Grandniece Corina Stockinger, both of Growiesen, Germany. Many in-laws living in the USA and her special friend Jerri Hoffman.

Christa graduate school in Germany and then she worked for three years as a hairdresser. In 1970 she immigrated to America. After arriving in America, she worked, and retired, from Lauhoff Grain Company in Danville, IL.

When she was still in better health, she had a lot of fun doing woodwork, crocheting and attending garage sales. She loved listening to Elvis and enjoyed spending her free time with friends at Sarge`s Tap.

Christa will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

The family would like to thank her friends Jerri Hoffman, Brenda Hinman, Wanda West, Betty Scott, Debbie Tevebaugh, Jean Rouse and Donna Freeman, who helped her during the last hard time.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, May 25, 2023 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Miles Clark will officiate. Inurnment will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 9-11:00 AM on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at the funeral home.
