Cayuga, Ind. - Chester M. Delp, Jr., 78, of Cayuga, went to be with the Lord at 8:57 p.m. EDT Saturday, July 18, 2015 at Clinton Union Hospital in Clinton, Indiana. He was born August 9, 1936 in Perrysville, Indiana the son of the late Chester Monroe and Thelma A. Scott Delp, Sr. Chester first married Wanda Sills. He later married Gloria Ledbetter on June 3, 2002 in Newport, Indiana. She survives. Other survivors include his children, Darla(Jeffrey)Hill of Greenville, Michigan; Chester(Gayle)Delp, III of Chicago, Illinois and Kimberly Stanton of Danville, Illinois; two stepsons, Kyle(Angie)Dill of Mt. Vernon, Kentucky and Robert(Bobby)Dill of Cayuga, Indiana; thirteen grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; his siblings, Helen Gebhart of Covington, Indiana; Bill(Henrietta)Delp of Highland, Indiana; Cherald "Bud"(Mildred)Delp of West Lebanon, Indiana; Gladys Carpenter of Wallace, Indiana; Nina(Clarence)Rudolph of Danville, Illinois; Jody Delp of Cayuga, Indiana; Jarvis(Patsy)Delp of Eugene, Indiana; Tom Delp of Dana, Indiana and Lonnie(Dorie)Delp of Perrysville, Indiana; several nieces and nephews and Chester's sister in Christ, Rita Bond. Chester was preceded ind death by his son, Jeffrey Delp; granddaughter, Jessica Stanton; two sister's, Margaret and Mary Delp and one brother, Howard Delp. Chester lived in Cayuga with his wife Gloria. Together they enjoyed mushrooming, ginseng, trapping, and attending the Cayuga Church of the Nazarene. Most of all Chester loved reading his Bible. Chester served his country as a PFC in the United States Army. He retired from Inland Steel in Whiting, Indiana after 32 years to care for his mother and two special needs sisters. Funeral services: 2 p.m. EDT Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at the Cayuga Church of the Nazarene; Officiating: Rev. Don Morgan; Burial with honors: Hicks Cemetery in Perrysville, Indiana; Visitation: Noon EDT Wednesday, July 22, 2015 until time of services at the church.
