Cayuga, Ind. - Chester L. Towner (74) of Cayuga, Indiana left this world on Friday, September 21, 2018.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle. He joined his beloved sister Sonja Ann who preceded him in death.

Chet is survived by his wife of 50 years Nancy (Miller), daughters, Tamara (Lee) Wilson, Nicole (Sean) Floyd and Jennifer (David Jr.) Plumm. He will be missed by his three grandchildren, Kyrsten Jane Wilson, Dakota Towner Floyd, and Jase Jamison Plumm and his nephews Robert, Kenneth and Jon Crawford and their families.

He retired in 2005 after 36 years as a Union Electrician with IBEW Local 538. Chet was proud to be a veteran of the United States Army, serving in Vietnam and Korea. He was a member of the Cayuga American Legion Rainbow Post 263 and the Cayuga Lions Club.

Visitation will be at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana on Friday, September 28, 2018 from 4 to 8 p.m. EDT. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 11 a.m. EDT at the funeral home with military honors following at the Vermillion County Fairgrounds (IN). There will be a celebration gathering at the Vermillion County Fairgrounds Community Building on Saturday after the services.
