Chester Chet Leo Pollitt, 62, of Danville, passed away at 6:40 p.m. Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at his home. Chester was born on August 15, 1945 in Danville, the son of Harlan and Helen Maxine (Kiger) Pollitt. He is survived by his three brothers- Richard Pollitt of Danville, Max Pollitt of Danville and Jack (Betty) Pollitt of Crawfordsville, Indiana; two sisters- Mary (Phillip) Price of Marshal, Illinois and Helen Tiffin of Oakwood, Illinois; three nieces- Theresa (Richard) Juvinall of Danville, Donna Tiffin of Oakwood and Laurie (Michael) Sweet of Indianapolis, Indiana; four nephews- Mike Price of Danville, Jason Tiffin of Oakwood, Doug (Susan) Smalley of Lattimore, North Carolina and Wayne (Tami) Smalley of Greenwood, Indiana; and 18 great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers- Robert and Harold Pollitt. Chester co-owned H. Pollitt Trucking for several years, until retiring in 1997. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church, where he drove a church bus for a few years. Chester enjoyed camping and being with his family. A Celebration of the Life of Chester Chet Leo Pollitt will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 19, 2007 at Sunset Memorial Park in the chapel. Visitation will be from 1:00 " 2:00 p.m. Monday in the chapel. Entombment will follow the service in the Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family to help with the funeral expenses. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center is in charge of arrangements.
