Cheryle Lynn Holt, 53, of Danville, passed away at 3:57am on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at Provena USMC in Danville. She was born on July 9, 1957, in Wisconsin, the daughter of John and Carol (Root) Whimpey. She is survived and will be missed by her life partner, Lenard Knee II, of Danville, her mother-in-law, Millie Knee of Champaign, which she considered her second mom, and Joyce Scott also of Champaign. Her special friend, Patricia Curry of Danville, one Step-daughter, Destiny Rouse of Danville, four aunts, Janice Root Sharon Brewer Carolyn Rogers all of Danville, Maxine of Colorado, one brother, David C. Whimpey of Florida and several of her extended family members and numerous friends that loved her dearly also survive Cheryle. Her parents and her infant daughter, Cynthia preceded Cheryle in death. She received her CNA certificate thru Danville Area Community College and was working on her early childhood development degree. She was an assistant director at Roselawn school and recently saw her dream become a reality by opening her own craft shop called, Papas woodshop and Mamas Crafts in Danville. She enjoyed camping, trout fishing, and her craft work. She was a caring person that always put others before herself. She will be missed by all that knew her. A graveside service for Cheryle Lynn Holt will begin at 2:00pm on Friday, December 3, 2010 at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. No public visitation will take place.
