Cheryl Redden, 69, of Oakwood, IL passed away at 6:00 PM at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL on May 23, 2025.

Cheryl was born on May 24, 1955 in Hoopeston, IL the daughter of Russell and Evelyn (Lane) Holt. She married Scott (Scooter) Redden on May 24, 1986 in Rossville, IL and he preceded her in death on August 11, 2022.

Survivors include her daughter, Cassie (Shane) Wynn of Oakwood, IL, her grandson, Wyatt Wynn of Oakwood, IL, two siblings, Jean (Bob) Young of Lafayette, IN and John Holt of Lincoln, CA, many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins with one who held an extra special place in her heart, Pam Huffer of Lafayette, IN.

Cheryl is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Scott (Scooter) Redden, her sweet boy, Nathaniel Eli Parker, two sisters, Shirley Moore and Barb Mathews and a very special niece, Terry Moore.

Cheryl was retired from Dawson Logistics following a lifelong career in office work and dispatching for various area trucking companies including RBT, P&EI, Ravens, and Dayton Freight. Cheryl loved to be outside in the sun. You could always find her with a smile on her face soaking up the rays. Many hours were spent on the deck at her daughter’s house. She loved pretty flowers and houseplants but more than anything she loved her family and will be dearly missed.

As per her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded, and a Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date.

Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, IL, 3940 N Vermilion Street Danville, Illinois 61834 is assisting the family with arrangements.
