Cheryl Lynn Cosat, 61, of Mattoon, formerly of Westville, passed away at 10:21pm, Tuesday, October 7, 2014, at Sara Bush Lincoln Hospital, Mattoon. She was born on December 29, 1952, in Danville, IL, the daughter of Fred E. and Mary Annabelle {Kinney} Cosat. Cheryl was a 1972 graduate of Georgetown High School She worked at Peterson Puritan, Kelly Potato Chip Factory in Champaign/Urbana, WorkSource in Danville, & C.C.A.R. in Charleston. She attended Westville First Church of Christ and was a lifetime member of the Vermilion County Conservation. She loved reading the Bible and going to Church. She also enjoyed crocheting & embroidery and crafts. Cheryl also enjoyed listening to Elvis. Above all else, she loved being with her family. Those who will miss her include: her brothers, Michael (Chris) Cosat of Georgetown & Clifford (Sandy) Coast of Tilton; her sisters, Jean Burton of Westville & Karen (Bob Snyder) Harper of Danville; her 6 nieces; her 8 nephews; and several great nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by: her parents; her brother, Fred E. Cosat Jr; her sister, Cynthia A. Cosat; her brother-in-law, James E. Burton; and a nephew, Scott A. Burton. A celebration of Cheryls life will be held at 1:00pm, Monday, October 13, 2014, at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, Westville, with Bob Cornell officiating. Visitation will be 2pm-4pm, Sunday, October 12, 2014, at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Oakridge Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given in her name to Palm Terrace Activity Fund in Mattoon.
