Cheryl A. Rice

Cheryl A. Rice, 49, of Westville went to be with the Lord on June 1, 2016 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. She was born on May 11, 1967 in Danville, the daughter of Billie Joe and Patricia (Keele) Gill. She married Robert Rice on April 16, 1994 in Danville and he survives. Cheryl will be deeply missed by her husband, children; Cody Rice of Westville, Jakab Rice of Westville, John Rice and Ashley (Teddy) Hendricks, brothers; Kenneth (Debra) Gill of Danville and Robert (Marcia) Gill of Oakwood, sisters; Pamela (Floyd) Cox of Tilton and Darla Cruppenink of Danville, five grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, best friend, Brenda Finley and Cheryl's two dogs, "Dorie" and "Lillian". She was preceded in death by her parents, great niece, Mazzie Cox and great nephew, Brody Cox. Cheryl graduated from Danville High in 1986 and was a "Marching Viking" during school. After she graduated she attended cosmetology school and graduated with her degree in 1988. Cheryl spent most of her life as a loving wife and mother to her children. She had a strong relationship with God and attended First United Methodist and Second Church of Christ with her friend Brenda. Cheryl was a Chicago Cubs fan and loved going to the Emmaus Walks. Her big heart and love for children will be dearly missed by many. A celebration of Cheryl's life will be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville with Drew Mentzer officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 6, 2016 from 4:00-7:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home 3940 N. Vermilion Street, Danville IL, 61834. Burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Park.
